Muckrach House FAQs
Muckrach offers ‘Exclusive Use’ which means that for the duration of your booking, you have the whole of Muckrach House and its immediate surrounding spaces to yourselves. We do have three self-catering lodges on the same grounds, so you may encounter a fellow guest or two. Please note the full site can be hired in conjunction with the house if required.
Our venue hire prices start at £995 per night in the low season and shift throughout the year. The hire will commence from 10am on the day of your arrival and finish at 4pm on the day of departure.
Exclusive use of the main house, bedrooms, reception rooms, piano bar, conservatory, rear patio, luxury kitchen and private front terrace with hot tub.

If you would like to book Muckrach Country House, please get in touch to check availability for your chosen date and to arrange a viewing. We are happy to reserve the date long enough for you to contact all those in your group who may choose to share the experience. We then ask for a payment of 33% of the total stay cost as a non-refundable deposit.
Yes, we ask for a cautionary deposit two weeks before your arrival date and this is retuned after your departure assuming no damage or issues have been identified. To ensure transparency, time and date stamped pictures are taken before and after your stay with us by our house manager.
Muckrach has eleven en-suite bedrooms. Please note four of these rooms can be made into twin’s if requested.
The main house sleeps and accommodates 22 guests, with the main conservatory offering generous space for house guests to dine. This area can also be adapted for larger numbers if the full site is taken. When enquiring, we can provide floor plans for our House and lodges so you may plan your stay with us.
We offer connections with several professional caterers, from pre prepared meals that can be delivered and cooked when you choose to a full dining experience for your group. For your everyday essentials all major supermarkets will deliver to the house and lodges. Our team will happily put this away for you if requested ahead of time.
The team at Muckrach love dogs, so we fully embrace the idea of your fury friends being a part of your stay. We allow up to 4 well behaved dogs. We do have specific rules regarding dogs staying in the house that must be followed.
Whilst we are able to provide disabled access to the ground floor space and terrace and have a fully accessible WC, we unfortunately do not have accessible access to any of the bedrooms in the house due to the nature of the old property. We do however have the Glenmore self-catering lodge on-site that has accessible features.
We have a large, shared car park for all your guests and any suppliers to use while here at Muckrach. We have CCTV covering all external areas for your safety and security.

Yes, children are welcomed, and we have ground floor accessible WC with a baby change unit if required.
Muckrach is a No Smoking house, please note there are penalties for smoke or burn damage.
Yes, we have free WIFI in the Main House and Lodges
We request noise be kept to a minimum after 10pm across the site to enable all guests to enjoy their stay. (Full site exclusive use rules may differ)
The house is classed as a self-catering accommodation so you may bring or have delivered your own selection of drinks.
Our team offers one to two public area house cleans during your stay, dependent on your stay length. Beyond this you may bring external suppliers or experiences into the house during your stay.
We have ceiling speakers located throughout the ground floor of the main house, all connected to Echo dots and an Echo show that all run the Spotify music streaming service. This is at each guest’s disposal during your stay.
We accommodate weddings at the property, and these are organised through Lindsay of Wide Sky Weddings as our exclusive provider of wedding services for the Muckrach Estate and she is authorised to offer full wedding and accommodation packages.
We allow a Maximum of 40 Day & Night Guests within the property only. Again, this must be booked through WideSky Weddings.
The Highland Lodges FAQs

We do not currently have an electric car charging station, however there are a number of free and paid for options within 5 miles of the site.
The team at the Highland Lodges love dogs, and for a cleaning fee of £40 per stay we allow up to 2 well behaved dogs. We do have specific rules regarding dogs staying on the house that must be followed. You can find these in our booking T&Cs.
Grantown and Aviemore have some great eatery options if you fancy a trip out, alternatively we do offer connections with several professional caterers, from pre prepared meals that can be delivered and cooked when you choose to a full dining experience for your group.
Through your own account you can arrange deliveries through most major local supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Tescos.

The Glenmore self-catering lodge does have accessible features in the second bedroom such as open shower/wet room and all main rooms on one level.
Yes indeed children are welcomed, and our two Highland Coo’s (Hamish & Dougal) love a gluten free oat biscuit!
Forest Lodges FAQs
We offer selected 2 or 4 night mid-week breaks (Monday to Friday) OR a 3 night weekend break (Friday to Monday). We are unable to offer one night stays at the Forest Lodges.
All five of our Cheshire Luxury Forest Lodges have a hot tub, so you can relax and gaze at the stars surrounded by trees.
Pets are ONLY permitted in the Douglas and Nordmann Fir at The Hollies Forest Lodges. Pets are NOT permitted in Scots Pine, Grand Fir, Noble Fir and Norway Spruce.
(If you fancy a trip up to the Highlands, your dogs are welcome in all of our Highland Lodges).
Unfortunately we do not offer one night stays, however we regularly update our mid-week two night offerings.
Our lodges are located as part of The Hollies Farm Shop at Little Budworth near Tarporley, Cheshire. Today, the site boasts a Butchery, Delicatessen, Takeaway & Gift Barn. With such a diverse offering at this site, Little Budworth has become a real destination to shop, eat and sleep. Please use the postcode CW6 9ES when locating our site.
Each lodge has limited parking outside as well as additional parking close by. We also have a large car park with CCTV and overnight secured gate access for your safety and security.
We do not currently have an electric car charging station, however there are a number of options within 5-10 miles of the site.
We have our wonderful Hollies Takeaway on-site serving food from 8am-4pm, as well as lots of fabulous food in our farm shop.
You may also choose enjoy a home cooked pub meal at the Fishpool Inn about 20 minutes walk from site or the Fox and Barrel in Cotebrook a similar distance away. There is also the Pesto restaurant at Cabbage Hall which is just a few minutes walk from us.

All lodges can be provided with an accessibility ramp, and all have walk in showers but are not specifically designed with accessible features.
Yes, we start decorating the lodges for Christmas from the last weekend in November.
We can often change the decor or interior of the lodges. Please note that the interior in the lodges may be subject to change between the time of booking and arrival. If there are any specific items required for your stay, please get in contact with our accommodation team.
